you know why the story is called "Candy Candy" and not
just "Candy"?. The answer to that question and more
you will learn it here.
In fact, Candy Candy, is a tranlation
from Chinese "Siao Tian Tian". "Siao" means
"little" and "Tian" means "sweet",
"sugar". It's like "Little Sweet Candy" and
that's what our heroine is.

next to his fathter, until 1912 when he returns to America
and then he meets Candy.

Did you know the series were censured in France? After
the episode where Anthony dies, many parents wrote in anger to
the channel which rebroadcasted it, to complaint about the traumantizante
fact happened in the anime. Shortly after, The drawer Dorothée
said this scene was misunderstood and Anthony wasn't dead, he
was having rest at a hospital. But the situation was ment, because
the story became incomprensible and the dialogues didn't matched
with scenes seen. This last until the last episode where Albert
remember the deads of Stear and Anthony.
 In
Italy there was a different end. In Italy the series had a great
success, and when it finished, every fan didn't agree with the
end written by the author. So the channel that rebroadcasted it
decided to rebroadcast it again, but this time they added some
images to the end we know.
They took some images from the dreams of Candy
about Terry (those where we can see Candy get off the train and
meeting with Terry again) and they added it to the last episode.
Like this they created a new and from some old images.
Clint, the racoon of Candy, didn't appear in the
manga. This character appeared as the typical funny friend of
the protagonist. In order to accompaign Candy in her solitude
moments, and to put som fun in the anime. Puppé, Albert's
pet, did appear in the anime and in the manga.
